Another to the newbie list
« on: January 29, 2014, 07:31:14 AM »
Like the title says i'm pretty new to all this - forums included.

My name is Santiago and I live in sunny, sunny, sunny Miami, Florida. *I hope you guys don't hold this against me as some of you may be stuck in your houses under however many feet of snow while I'm enjoying some of the best riding weather this state can give ;D.

I am a 23 year old Ecuador native and have lived stateside since '99. I've always loved bikes and dreamt of my own but that didn't come true until three years ago when I bought a fantastic little '78 KZ200 (at crazy inflated South Florida prices). I rode the thing everywhere and hard until the engine seized on me on a pitch black A1A around midnight one night after a long ride from Gainesville to Ormond-by-the-sea. I have since gotten the little bastard back in tip-top shape and enjoy it daily in it's full 200cc glory (no sarcasm, the little Kawi really is a blast). The experience of fixing the Kawasaki with my dad was rewarding enough to inspire the purchase of a fairly complete '73 cb350f (not running and in need of much TLC) for $600 which is my current project.

This is where the forum comes in. I've been lurking pretty hard around here for information/advice on the little four and this forum has been a fantastic source of information and even entertainment to where I finally felt I should make an account.

I'll share some photos of the Kawi and Honda (as well as the three rolls of film I took at the Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show this past Saturday) once I reach the post limit and look forward to lots of help and lots of laughs.

Here are bikes in all their glory (note that the 350f looks fairly good at this distance  ;D) -

'78 kz200

'73 cb350f

Progress on the 350 has been slooooow but I recently finished the carbs and was getting ready to turn it over when one of the spark plugs broke in the head  :-\. Any advice on getting this cleared?

They look good....  :) Ouch! broken plug, can't give any advice as to how to remove, but I'm sure someone will chime in.
