2 hole hub value?
« on: February 03, 2014, 11:48:27 AM »
I'm contemplating some wheel work, my 750 drag bike project has an early two hole (KO) hub on it, but it's got perfect spokes and a 16" hog rim. Is it worth the effort to swap the hub for a 4 hole hub I already have or is the 2 hole hub even worth the cost of the spokes/labor/ lacing/truing?

Don,  I have a vague recollection of seeing a 2 hole hub sell for an ungodly amount of dollars a year or so ago....Larry

Thanks momo, I'm sure I've asked similar dumb 2 hole questions and never got a reply.

In my opinion, the hub is worth something between $100 and $200. The spokes and rim aren't going to be valuable to someone wanting a 2 hole hub (usually a restorer working on a Sandcast or a K0 Diecast).

Two of the last three CB750s I have owned had 16 inch wheels on the back. Too bad, the original 18" DID rims are becoming more valuable from the early bikes. I'm not telling you how much I paid for an original rolled rim on a 2 hole hub for my sandcast project  :-X
