Pretty cool Don. I just met Rick Stetson at the Manufacturers Cup at Bradenton in November. He was crewing on Larry Spiderman McBride's top fueler. I was also talking with Ricky Gadsen and asked when he was going to graduate to Top Fuel. He said Larry asked him to try his bike and with just one ride back to the pits was enough for him. No way. Respect/fear. One in the same? Ricky was doing 190 on his bike I believe while Larry's was at 240. It's amazing what these bikes will do and that there are guys that will ride them!

Rick wasn't crewing for McBride Jerry....it was for the Canadian team. They should be good competition for McBride this next season. ;)

 I was in LA in. 81 or 82 went. To. A bike show at the Rose Bowl that bigass tire Vance and Hines Suzuki was there ...cool bike..

Don't have any clue why I would get confused hanging out with the motley crew we had!  ;) May of had something to do with consumption?!  ;D Come to think of it they were side by side in the pits. Unless I'm confused on that too??

Hidden heroes show was one of THE best motorsports programs ever.
And Steve Evans was THE MAN for interviews.
My best remembrance (and 15 seconds of fame - sort of) was Steve Evans doing a David vs. Goliath between-rounds pit interview as we serviced our funny car prior to the finals against The Champ.  He was knelt down in front of the car, talking into the microphone, I was under the engine servicing the bottom end. I have a habit of hooking my toes together into the A arms for leverage while cranking the torque wrench to 135lbs so didn't give it much thought...
Next day I call back home and my mom, all happy,  says "I saw you on TV". Huh? "Well your shoes". I had written on the soles, in yellow paint marker, HI MOM, and that was what Diamond P & Steve Evans had filmed.
Of course that's why it was there. Nobody knows me but everybody loves their mom.   ;)
