I have the cheap aftermarket key switch installed and after reading on this forum I understand that the switch must be protected by relays.

Headlight high/low and ignition circuits controlled by weak soldered connections on handle bar switches and powered by the crappy key switch will now only activate relays. Very low current.

Headlight:
2 relays that will be activated by low/high beam.
Low/high beam wires to H4 connector will activate one relay each. The 12V to the relays fed direct from battery via a thicker wire with a fuse in series near the battery. Thicker - cable direct from battery.

Ignition coils: (I have PAMCO Ultimate kit with coils)
Disconnect the black/white wire feeding the coils (disconnect from coils). This wire will activate a relay that switch on/off 12V from an own thicker wire direct from the battery and fuse. Relay mounted close to the ignition coils but away from the heat dissipated from engine.

Headlight and Ignition can share the - wire to battery.

This is enough, right?
No other high Amps wires fed by Key switch/controlled by weak handle bar switches?

No trouble yet. But it might come if not using relays...? I did not have any problem with OEM switch until it fell into pieces many years ago, replaced  by a hidden switch.
I read threads like this one. http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=59562.0

yours will be ok so long as you dont run a stupid arse too heavy wattage head light,i only run the relay on my horns as its a twin set up and i like them loud sharp and threatening sounding, the average or normal motorcycle horn even on a harley is a joke and wont be taken seriously even if its heard at all?

hows this #$%*en rude #$%*?theres nothing behind me,just blast the horns at her,no one pulls out when i drive the truck though?im only cruising here also despite what other video you may have seen, you need proper horns, squeakers are a joke.

When the switch with wires are melted, it's a little bit late. The other threads about this convinced me that its just a matter of time with the cheap ign. key switch

The H4 lamp is normal 55/60W. We have a law here that it must be lit at daytime.

OK, 4 realys then :) The useless horn might be replaced by this...  Stebel Nautilus Compact
