any rickman experts around
« on: February 08, 2014, 10:24:20 AM »
i am trying to assess what bits & pieces have been added to my bike .its a one owner 76f ,the owner is no longer available to ask,it was a main dealer demo bike .its fitted with a rickman 1/2 sports fairing ,ace bars or clubman bars.wheels relaced with borriani alloy rims.there are decent quality engine dress up outer covers with fins on them made of alloy.trick looking rocker cover caps.plus an adjustable steering damper.there are 2 fibreglass panniers &  a rear rack to mount them.what i am looking for is what was available from rickman around this period so i can keep the good & replace the chaff so to speak.all the parts are off the same era .i know its not an exotic special but its a working class cafe race of its era & i am trying to keep it as it was back in the day.there are photos of the bike in my othe post restore or refurb.

Can we at least see a pic on HERE?
Rickmans did not have saddlebags (panniers) as the bicyclists call them.

I do not want to go on a easter egg hunt to find your stuff.LOL

BTW...You start sentences with a capitol letter in english.
I do not do facebook or tweets or any of that stuff.
This forum IS my social media. LOL..lol
Example?

Okay, Mate, I've gone back and looked at your earlier posting. I suppose I've had more experience with Rickman-Honda CR750's than most. In fact, I still have one more unbuilt Rickman-Honda that I need to finish.

The only thing even remotely "Rickman" on your F is the street version of the Rickman 3/4 fairing. The Rickman brothers made these fairings to fit a standard CB750 chassis rather than the Rickman-Honda CR750 frame. The fairing looks pretty good on your bike and I, for one, would clean it up completely, leaving the vintage stickers, and would clear coat over the stickers to make them more a part of the design. You could even squirrel away the fairing for use on a more full-on authentic future cafe racer build. BTW, the easiest way to differentiate the street version of Rickman fairings is the outward flair at the handlebar openings.

I, for one, would store the fairing for future use and redo the bike as a clean naked F resto-rod build... But that's just me.

Anyway, good luck with your build. RR

thanks for that,i am leaving the bike as is ,it was supplied like this from the motorcycle dealers.they spruced it up ,probably to try to sell a few more bikes.the wheels have the borriani rims & the touring rack & side panniers are rickman equipment but not very stylish.i am mainly trying to find an old rickman brochure or similar of the stuff they made for the standard road bikes ,thats what paid for the development of the exotics.

the bike has been owned locally all its life ,was supplied by a well know & long gone independent multi brand bike shop so i want to keep it as it was .i have not met any of the previous now deceased owners friends ,however i will & he kept it all these years ,who am i to change things .

I would imagine that all or most internet forums have a "Lucky" or 2 on them. :D
