Battery Eliminator
« on: February 09, 2014, 03:09:25 PM »
Anyone ever tried a Battery Eliminator capacitor like a lot of guys used in the old sportsters? The concept should be the same, correct?

It could work if you ran bare bones electrics, kick only and basic lights. Co-worker had that set up on his BSA chopper for a bit, he got tired of it quick fast and switched back to a battery. It barely had the jam for a headlight iirc, nothing like riding at night with piss poor lighting...

This question comes up now and then. The capacitor battery eliminator only works with permanent battery dynamo or alternator systems - not with the induced field alternators in our bikes. No go.
