Nice looking bike mate! The next time you take apart your carbs and airbox (because you will), use a bike inner tube, like so:

This trick makes it easy to mount the whole thing.

Ok awesome!

Now I need to figure out why it won't start after installing the Dyna S :( Anyone ever had that happen when putting one of those in?

I'm sticking with ye olde points so I can only suggest you have a look at this list of documents.

I'm sure I spotted one or two referring to Dyna ignition set up and troubleshooting specifically for CB400F

Well I'm an idiot and installed the magnet backwards on the rotor for the Dyna S so I flipped it and it started right up. It revs much better now but it still bogs on WOT and over 7.5k RPM so I guess I will be taking the carbs out again :( I took it by the local cars and coffee meet this weekend and it's amazing how many people love the CB400F haha.

Parts are starting to roll in!

Dyna S Ignition
Various bolts/washers
Speedo Cable
Tach Cable
Clutch Cable
Timing cover gasket
OEM Honda Petcock

Awaiting on a throttle cable, carb rebuild kits and a couple of other little things can't wait to have a garage weekend soon!

Where did you get your cb400f Shop Manual?

I downloaded it on here somewhere and had it printed and bound.

Ok guys I'll update this.
I've just been riding and enjoying the bike but the new battery I got is dead! I talked to a mechanic and he thinks the shorting out at full throttle is either from the stator or my rectifier/regulator not working and the bike is trying to draw power from the battery which is why I'm going through batteries. Does this make sense? Should I order a new rectifier?

If you've been running the bike and the battery turns up dead, then your bike is probably not charging, thus drawing the battery down.

Don't jump to conclusions about which part is bad, test them. Use this to determine exactly what is wrong, then fix or replace it for a guarantee:

I should have added more info, the bike revs fine when in neutral and no load but when riding it has a real struggle at anything past 3/4 throttle or like 6k RPM....So I guess I could hook up a multimeter to the battery and ride and hold the meter between my legs and see?

Except this does not explain a dead battery... Perform the electrical tests per the troubleshooting guide, identify and repair that problem, then see where the performance ends up. Chase 1 problem down at a time, electrical always first, else you will confuse carb/ignition problems with electrical shorts or drains.

those meldet red vires(you fixed erlyer) can be  corsed by a reversed battery..po can have reversed it for a few sekunds..then the regdifier are meldet..but thek the redifier diodes..as you thek the vindings ohm..the 3 yellov vires are kommon konnekted so readings vill be the same between 2 of them at time

I've cleaned the carbs out, got a brand new OEM honda petcock and added a Dyna S ignition system so I'm thinking this could be it, I'll break out the multimeter and see what I find!

New problem, got a ricks motorsports R/R combo and installed it. Nike starts and runs great except after a few minutes it just blows the main 15amp fuse! Any ideas? I've checked all the grounds and they are fine, is 15amps too low?
