Noel I think you have nailed this right where it is. I try to switch things up and look at it from many angles and see things from the other side.

Flip it around, if they were on the ground here, there would be little old church ladies running around with butcher knives ready to cut off heads. And most of us would be sitting somewhere hiding waiting to take a pot shot at one of them and kill them off one at a time, even if we were losing.

Really we should be fixing our country instead of pushing our ways on other countries. But why should things change, this is how it has always been.

This one really kills me: Money spent on 9-11 memorial $650 million, Money Spent on War $313,798,863,500 and growing. The money spent on fixing our country is just barely a fraction of this. And this is done at a time in which the US earnings are a fraction of what they have been in the past, and 5% of the people are making most of the money and a majority of the population is considered to be earning blow poverty level.

I have always said "If you are not enraged, you are not paying attention". We push hard to say these people were so selfless that day 5 years ago. If they were, which many were, they would prolably be of the opinion that major money should be spent in our country to fix it. Wouldn't that be a much greater legacy? 3,000 plus people die and for that scrifice we were able to fix our nation and sew it together like it should be and for once be truelly unified and better for it..... Instead we built this huge thingy in thier memory so when the media needs sympathy they can call on it and abuse our emotions and use them as a tool against us. I am not saying that there should be some memorial, but building this huge thing FIXES NOTHING.

I can remember what I was doing right after the first plane hit. I was asleep and my daughter woke me. Rubbing my eyes standing in the living room I see the first tower fall as my eyes focus. I just stare in disbelief. As I soak it all in, I say to my self, "Yea right! What is this some sick f'in movie?" After watching people jump from the other tower I was devestated. On my TV screen they were specks. Then it hit me these are someones Dad, someones Mom, uncle, aunt whatever. Someone will be at home waiting for them tonight and they will never get there.

I am glad on serious level not many people agree with me. People who agree with me all the time scare me. Junkie you are not disturbing enough to scare me, Duster that is another story

I was sitting in an ambulance in the parking lot of Los Alamitos racetrack, watching the world go by. My partner was reading news off his pager and suddenly sat up straight and whispered "Holy #$%*."

We drove to a nearby liquor store where the owner had a little B&W TV set up on the counter. A few folks clustered around it, silently watching. We all saw the second tower fall. A few of us -- me included -- pretended to have something in our eyes.
