OEM gasket, is this mold?
« on: February 12, 2014, 04:11:50 PM »
I ordered this gasket that was listed as Honda OEM- it's a rubber of some sort. Hondaman said somewhere that the original gaskets had a film or something on them and not to use a copper spray on them. Is this white stuff that or mold or what? I'm used to paper/cork gaskets.

I also see no label or watermark. How do I know this is OEM? Certainly paid OEM price.

If I remember correctly, that is the way the gaskets have always looked.

Is it sticky to your finger?

+1, you can tell the OEM coated ones, the feel of them. Other gaskets will be 'dry'
