Gold Dude - how often do you change your oil?!  Sure, I wouldnt have them on a daily rider, but If I have to pull the pipes once a year to change the oil, no big deal.
And really the only way to clean/polish the pipes is to take them off, right?

How much you want for those crap pipes?!  Trade for set of Lesters??

Prolly cause they were race pipes and oil filter removal didn't matter during a race. These are copies aren't they?

No improvements in his designs even though they are copies?

Hmmmm, i thought a copy was a copy...? Anyway, once a year you have to take them off for a filter change, maybe twice if you ride it a bit more, you should probably clean them more than once a year which requires removal anyway, i think we are just being picky here... Like i said, if that is really so hard or too much trouble then put on a spin on conversion on. Why did you buy them in the first place...?

Don't get me wrong Steve-o, I like the pipes for what they are, look great, sound great and all.  And I will trade those crap pipes with a set of Henry Abe wheels for a 550 bike :)

Replicas of race pipes that were designed for horsepower not oil changes. Easier and thus cheaper to make with fewer/sharper bends in them. The performance difference is probably not much different than one with the bends for oil filter change. But everyone is looking for that last 1-2hp, though few of us use 9/10 of what we have.

Here's a video of Carpy's pipe:

STF bike cold start up video

 Pros:
 -Affordable
 -Cool looking
-Sounds great....people commented on it all the time.
 -Good for the price.

 Cons:
 - Not as well made as the MotoWorks pipe. Some ugly welds, etc.
 -No center stand.
 -LOUD
-Have to remove it to change oil filter.

Mine fit fine and I liked it. I'd buy another for the right bike/project. I didn't have a front fender, so I can't comment on clearance issues.

Love the sound of this pipe. Are any welds really bad or just a bit ugly?

The welds weren't BAD....no structural integrity issues...but let's just say they didn't look like a stack of dimes, either.

Like I said, for the money and for the right build, I'd say they're worth it, for sure.

on a broken in motor i only do the filter every second oil change,if your breaking in a new motor and pulling the filter to monitor the debris itll be more of a hassle,i guess its no big deal really, just turns an afternoon of beer and oil change into a couple more beers?i always like to look on the bright side!

This may be a dumb question, but, can you put a muffler on the carpy pipe?
