New Coils FYI

I just saw on David Silver Spares facebook page they have a run of new oem style cb750 coils in stock. Made at the original factory to oem specs. I didn't check the price but if you need em there they are.

I wonder if they work better than the OEM ones I bought in 2009? I have been quite disappointed by this set, bought from Honda (came with all the hardware!). The spark on the 2-3 coil is weaker than on the 1-4 coil, and lets it foul those plugs regularly. I swapped in some of the Sakura for a while and it was much better: swapped back to the Honda OEM ones in 2016 and the fouling returned. About to go back to the Sakura and pitch the new OEM coils, they just do not act like my old ones (which broke their wires off inside the bodies at 126,000 miles in 2006).

The primary resistance on these OEM coils is also not equal: the offending one is 0.15 ohm higher than the 'good' one. I suspect QC was sleeping that day... :(
