Will this fit on my '78 CB750F?
« on: February 18, 2014, 08:48:12 PM »
Just bought a used Kerker from a forum member here and wanted to double check if it would fit on my bike with no special modifications. So far I've bolted it up with just copper washers and nothing else and it seems to be working fine. Unfortunately I purchased some MAC split collars and they don't fit around the pipe. Anyone need them? They brand spanking new.

Yeah, it should fit no prob.  The only question is where to bolt the rear mount to?

Kerker came with a steel strap that mounted to the top shock mount, real funky looking.

I modified the mount and bolted it to the rear peg.

you are good, you don't use the split collars with that style of aftermarket mounting
If it works good, it looks good...

Awesome! That's what I figured but I thought I would double-check. I'm running it as an open header with the stock air box. I might get a cycle-x cone muffler later on but so far I like the way it sounds. Thanks again to the site members. You guys are great!

I'd put one of these mufflers on it...

It will actually run better with back pressure

I've heard of these guys before. They have some good designs. I'm thinking of ordering a reverse cone from them but not sure if I should buy the 16 gauge or 18 gauge. Also not sure what the ID and OD for the Kerker. I'll have to measure it and call them for specifics. Thanks for the link.

I'd get the 16 ga, slightly thicker.

So I have a complete Kerker lined up for my F1. I've heard rumor you cant use the center stand with the Kerker and Yoshi pipes. Is that true?

In your case it sounds like the only thing you can't use is the stock rear mounting point.

I have a Kerker on my F1, center stand stays on and is is used everyday.  I have the strap from the top shock mount to support the muffler.

I'm doing a Kerker on mine too and the center stand is no problem. DON'T use the strap to the shock nut please. Bend it to the rear peg mount. It's MUCH cleaner that way and it works GREAT!

Awesome to hear! I do my own metal fab work so the peg mount is no problem.
