Questions about using the NGK splicer

When I bought my 1975 cb750, 2 of the coil wires were cut. If I use the NGK splicer, can I use the spark plug wires with boots that they use for cars? or i have to get ones specifically made for these bikes?

you mean the caps that click onto the plugs?you must use the resistor type,they have a built in resistor,you can use ngk ones rated at 5000ohms,or 5kohms.

Dave I think he is talking about the little joiners for the coil wires and joining in carbon cored wire. 

Kingjess, you would be far better off using copper cored wire with 5K caps.  I'm not a huge fan of those splicers, another join is just asking for trouble.  It's just something else to go wrong IMO. ;D

i understand that,but i think kingjess25 is talking about the spark plug end?im not keen on joiners either,dont use carbon wire!,i didnt think you could still get it?i thought its all spiral or the old solid now?

Yeah, im talking about the ones that hook onto the sparkplugs. I think they're called spark plug caps?

Use the NGK that Dave mentioned and solid core wire. I have had the splicers now for about 2 years no problems. I packed the nuts with dielectric grease  just to help keep water out. Z1 has all your needs at a good price and good service.

I've got a season of riding with a set of Ngk splices and copper core wires, they work great. No complaints at all.

Yes and no the wires will work but you will need to cut the ends off and replace them with the NGK 5ohm caps ???
Better to just get the wire buy the foot.

You only need 4 feet not 8 like they say in there add. If you shop around you can get any color if that matters.

The wires in the link are supplied in pairs that you cut in half. I don't see a mention of length either.

 This has been explained so many many many times. Look at Honda mans book or look through the FAQ I'm pretty sure TT has a write up about it too.

The length I was referring to was from Z1s site. When you buy the wire by the foot. It says 8 feet will do it. But you could do 3 bikes with 8 feet maybe 4 bikes
