Carb Rebuild - 4 unidentified pegs
« on: February 22, 2014, 02:07:29 PM »
Howdy,

Just rebuilt the carbs on my 1976 CB550F. Upon reattaching them to the throttle assembly, I was left with 4 black collared pegs a little less than a centimeter long, and washers to accompany them. They are not threaded.

Anybody know where these go? Will post a picture tomorrow when I'm back at the garage.

Thanks!

they are the either teflon or graphite coated "guides" if you may.

The linkage arms had round balls that they swivel on, there should be one of those above and below the ball. If you notice on the end pictured that facing down, there should be slight hollow in the end. Thats where the ball on the arm rubs in. So, those brass nuts on each linkage of each carb holds in a spring, followed by one of those bits, the ball and another one of those bits inverted so that the ball runs in the indents of each "guide".

Hope my explanation helps lol

they go in here.

above and below the hole where the ball from the linkage arm goes in...

and the washers go above them, where the crew slot for synching them is, i think the fatter washer goes below the little flat plate that links the two together and then another smaller one on that, followed by the lock nut.

Thanks, Bru-tom.

I'll be back in the shop tomorrow and will report back. This is my first project bike and there's no way I'd be as close to completion as I am without the information on these forums. Thanks to all!
