Bleed screw Swap on a Dual Disc Conversion
« on: February 24, 2014, 08:46:02 PM »
I am in the process of sorting parts for the dual disc conversion on a 72 750. on the newly added calliper on the right hand side I would like to change the location of the bleed screw and supply line so its the mirror of the left side rather than the opposite.

I thought I had read about this before but cant find any how to on this topic. It would seem that I would need a new seat for the bleed screw relocation and I would assume that the old one can't be removed. If I am right then I would have to either source the seat or get one made.

can some one point me in the right direction please.

You simply remove the flare seat and re-install it in the other hole.
I have threaded a sheet metal screw into the seat, then pried it straight out using needle-nose pliers between the caliper body and the underside of the screw.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Scottly, thanks I figured considering I could not much info it would be simple but had to ask to make sure I didn't stuff it up.

I have cut a finish nail to go up from the inside and was able to grab it with a plier and pull out. Dan

For my dual disc I took the flare seat out and left it out.  Works fine without it.
