How many rubber pucks for a 78F and 78K
« on: February 25, 2014, 04:17:15 PM »
My son and I want to replace our leaking head gaskets before spring comes around and the gasket kits we have didn't come with the rubber pucks.  I would like to get these pucks ordered before we start but want to make sure of the correct amount for each bike.  Mine is a 78 750F and his is a 78 750K.  Is there a good place to get them at and is there a brand we should stay away from ?  Thanks for the help...

Thanks for the site...but they are out of stock.  Good news is it looks like both bikes take 6 pucks so thats a start.  Thanks again

Last year I actually bought some pucks directly from Honda. You may want to try a dealer.

6 pucks each. Be aware that not all pucks are equal, there is a thread on puck thickness somewhere here, thinner pucks are known to leak.

I've had good results with the Versah pucks. They come in a pack of 6 ready to go.

Thanks for the replys.  I will check to see if my Honda dealer will get them for me...if not they have the Vesrah pucks on eBay.  Thanks again for the help.

That is the only place gasket sealant is needed when rebuilding these top end IMO. :)

Partzilla had them for the best price I could find and they were Honda parts so its a win win.  Gasket sealant or a little RTV?
