WEIRD Frame & Engine Numbers?????? HELP!!!!
« on: February 25, 2014, 11:10:43 AM »
Hi, I have just picked up my 1978 registered CB750-F2(?) and it has strange numbers that don't relate to anything I can find on the forum (or elsewhere).

The bike is relatively untouched and numbers are not messed with - the frame numbers are same on vin plate & headstock.

FRAME:  CB750G - 10038**

ENGINE:  B750GE - 10044**

W T F   ???   I repeat - they all look kosha and are not tampered with and match the DVLA paperwork, etc!

Can anyone explain whats going on - and how I can find out the exact model I have - PLEASE  :o

For the record I thought it was intentional ignorance, not a simple mispelling. I mean...how many jews speaking yiddish could they possibly have in the UK? 6? 7?

JK Geeto...I thought it more a phonetical spelling loosely based on his regional accent  ;)

Blimey should have ! after it.   ::)
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

nah we are all just taking the piss.

To put this back on track for a second...seems like Uk got the short shrift when it came to SOHC Hondas. IIRC you guys got the k2 from 72-76 instead of the k3/4/5/6 models like everywhere else.

I don't know enough about them to tell the difference but I was talking to a guy a few miles away with a K6.

I think you guys got the k6, but I have seen 1975 k2s in the UK. Plus there are a lot of American imports.

Gotta agree that the early K's were much better looking bikes.... but the F2 has the better engine  ;)   UK did get K models too, but I remember when the F first came to the UK (I was only 13yrs) and even then it was known as the BANANA bike  :P

I'm surprised how heavy the old girl is.... it makes me KZ1000's seem lightweight ....... sort of.
