Cb350f tuning problem
« on: March 06, 2014, 10:22:39 AM »
Hi guy's ,

Hope you can help me with the problem i have with my CB350f .
After rebuild of the engine and carburetors i fitted the following.
35 slow jets
85 main jets
Needle clip in second position from the top
Floats on 22 mm
Airscrews on 7/8 turns.
Valves clearance st to 0,05 mm
Vacuum synchronized all 4 carburetors.
New d8ea spark plugs.
Open pods.
4 in 1 headers and collector and completely open muffler.
When i start the engine it runs OK and i almost don't  have to use the choke. The first few miles it runs fantastic through the complete powerband but after a few miles, 5 or 6 or so it starts to run like it is running on two cylinders and only in higher revs it will pick up on all 4 again but never like in the first few miles. When i stop the engine stops or runs crap. When i restart the engine after a few minutes all is happening exactly the same again.
All the 4 spark plugs are a light brown/tan color when i get them out.
Adjusted the airscrews from 7/8 till 2 turns out and i replaced the needle clips from the second to the third, fourth and fifth position without result.
I really tried anything and now i still have this problem.
Who knows what to do?

Thx for your help!

It sounds electrical, especially if it improves at higher revs, but dies when rpm's come down.
you'll also need to run some tests on your battery, and charging system.
