joey from what i can blurrily make out when i squint my eyes, yours is sort of acceptable. my PO had done some home style botch job or maybe he had found his artistic inspiration at the bottom of his toilet bowl, i don't know.
guess my senses are just too crude to understand its sublime elegance

They are not welded together. Mine are completely apart. I had them ceramic coated inside and out.

Oh...and I'm going to be SOOO jealous if Flatlander gets to hear his before I get to hear mine!

Scott, I have seen more than one motor assembled on a motor stand with the exhaust attached and they test fired it that way... Just be sure you have it braced properly so any torque effect is not going to tip the motor on the stand.
So, you might be able to beat him if you could set it up that way.

yes it is. cerakote, glacier black. should be good.
i actually picked them up today still. now i want to remove the winter crud from the bike before i install them. it's not nice working on a dirty bike. besides, those posh looking pampered pipes would probably feel offended.

I can think of a bike in the stable that certainly needs 1. I've got MGPs on the other 2.

Truth be told, I'd really want them in stainless, but I would be very happy to live with them in mild steel and ceramic coated. Really a lovely set of pipes. I'm going towards Scott's soon and will see/hear them in person. PayPal to follow no doubt.

I did manage to get the top end buttoned up on my motor, and the frame is back from powder coating. If I can just get a day off, I can marry the two and get started bolting on all the other bits. Maybe by this summer I'll have mine on.

cal to make you feel better: it's a real let-down that they're made in some non-descript mild steel probably scavenged off water piping from abandoned vacation villages along the spanish coast. just not right. on top of that the high-temp paint they came with is more than dodgy, you can scratch it with your finger nail. if you look up close you also notice that the welding could be nicer, totally destroying the looks for those that bend down and around far enough to scrutinise them on the installed pipes.
all in all, what a botch job. they'd really be terrible on your bike.

scott don't sulk. just get off the couch and stop making up excuses!
if it's of any consolation: i don't think i'll be hearing them this weekend, either.

I'm also interested in the dyno results, especially since you ended up with stock jetting on your other combination. And since you have enough a baseline for comparison. Might help with my jetting choices, too.

yes i will dyno them. according to the hi-po guys an A/F ration of about 13:1 is best. so far, with the stock 4-1 i've had the stock jetting and it was a bit on the rich side. i'm interested to see where this gets me.

it's super nice spring weather today and we decided to go for a bit walk on the beach with neighbours and the dogs. so while i'm also not on the couch, i'm also not doing anything with the bike!

well guys, the race for first firing up these pipes is not over yet. the headers don't fit on the left hand side of the bike. i tried all sort of things, looked up a bunch of stuff and traded a few mails with enrique. bottom line: he made them for a K and they don't fit the F with its different configuration of kick stand, centre stand and passenger pegs. the difference is too much to bend them in place myself.
that's disappointing as i very clearly stated i was mounting them to an F and pointed out the difference, even offered to send measurements. oh well... let's see what he can do. anyway, i won't hear them rumble just yet.
