[SOHC4 Cafe Racer Fan]

Closer inspection revealed some crusty wiring. I decided I wanted to replace it all with new wiring and an m-unit. 

My buddy Dave Hargreaves (who used to work at Confederate prior to Hurricane Katrina) and now owns a community garage (Cerberus Moto) and also builds custom motorcycles in San Diego has wired several Motogadget builds, and is trying to develop a plug and play "harness" for CBs for stock switches and modern switches -- for those of us who are intimidated by the prospect.  He's using my bike as a test for his wiring "jig."  I gave him the specs of what electronic components I am using and Dave (and his wife Jen) put this together last night.  I know this is an easy way out for me, but I am very thankful.  FYI - I am replacing my stock switches with Motone buttons (3 button on the left, 2 button on the right).  M-lock to go under the side cover.

On this bike, I'm sticking with my stock gauges since they are very clean and functional.

20 for switches, 18 for tail, and 14/12 for everything else

Dave installed my m-unit and wiring harness today.  He decided to swap all remaining incandescent lights to LED; he converted the gauge lights today and is rewiring the idiot light panel.  M-lock to be wired in along with new Motone switchgear (3 buttons on the left (left and right turn signals and horn) and 2 on the right (start/stop and hi/low beam)).

A few upgrades percolating:
My speedo cable broke because my speedo driver has been rotating (because of a mod to its housing to accommodate the second disc).  I've decided that since the bike has been converted to motogadget wiring to simply integrate a motogadget electronic gauge. I found a great deal on a Motoscope Pro model.

I am also swapping out my Tomaselli adjustable clubmans for CB400f bars.  Since I am going with a conventional handlebar, Beringer is going to swap my MC with the tilted reservoir for an integrated model.

You still loving the Beringer brakes? Would it be something you would do if you had to spend the money?  Or would a fork swap be a preferred route, although a more expensive one?

You running a led headlight yet or HID or halogen in h4 housing?

As always, pics or it didn't happen...the moto or mantra of much of this site...guess that makes us a visually stimulated crowd...

The MotoScope uses breakout boxes, increasing the required real estate for a wiring install. Just an FYI.

LOL. I think Philippe has someone lined up for my “used” MC. The wider bar just made more sense ergonomically with the standard foot pegs.

The Motoscope was an open box but new with the breakout box and mounting plate for less than $300 so it was a good deal.

I do love the Beringers but I got a sweet deal because I know the distributor.

If money IS a consideration, I would opt for an older R6 conventional fork and brakes.

Godfrey makes a nice spacer if you want to remove the speedo drive. 
I installed one on the Park Racer since it has no speedo.

Did some clean up work this week on the Blue.

I vapor blasted my engine covers, had my buddy blast my carburetors and cleaned up my rear fender. Still to come, new from fender.

My neutral light sensor was getting fussy, so I removed it and vaporblasted the neutral switch rotor and stator so that the metal contact surfaces were bright and shiny again, and aligned them.  Now the bike can find neutral easier.
