Holy smokes man, talk about poise. Well done, all around, and so glad to hear that you got a pretty good bill of health in the aftermath.

Your story is a really valuable reminder that we are our own best advocates for the quality of our healthcare, including that primary choice you made to go to a place that was much better suited to your condition.

If it turns out to be nothing, the worse thing that can happen is you feel foolish. Feeling foolish beats the crap out of being dead or disabled.

In my case, it also resulted in a $6000 hospital bill from all the tests that found nothing. I was there for 6 hours. They never did figure out what was going on, but established my heart was OK. It happened last winter and is a long story that started out something like yours. My wife is still kind of pissed at me that I didn't tell her about it until later (when the bills started coming in, ha ha) Glad to hear they got you sorted out, Bob.

Had the same thing happen to me years ago ofreen.  Never found out was wrong and told me it was probably an anxiety attack.   Only subsequent anxiety was the stinking hospital bill, even though I had insurance the bill was not covered-said it was not an emergency because there was not anything wrong with me...Larry

How you doing, Bobby?
I am doing OK. I have to see the Cardio guy today. I have been runnung errands, I can't lift anything over 10lbs so I don;t spring a leak where they cut into the Artery in my groin. I am going some puttering around the house like installing some GFCI outlets in my Kitchen and othe low strain actvities.  Thanks a lot for asking. Of course you know I have been collecting and posting stuff to the Babe Thread.  ;D

So glad that you lived to tell the story. I had an stent implanted couple of years ago, at 41. I was lucky that my blockage was about 90% so every now and then I would feel the chest pain that went away in a matter of minutes. Decided to go to the doctor just in case. The rest, as they say, is history.

Welcome to the "metal heart" club, and the ever-bleeding-small-cuts-and-bright-red-blood. Anyway, it could have been much, much worst. Since I went through it I got rid of a couple of bikes and decided to declutter. If I have to meet the maker I rather don't leave much junk to be dealt with.

Yeah, I now have my first non OEM part and I hope the last!  I am told I may be able to stop the anti clotting drugs in about a year. Who knows?

I did find myself having some episodes of real discomfort when clearing snow and also walking up a hill in the cold. Did not feel right but it passed and I just figured the extremely cold air and exertion mixed together caused it. When it happened it did not pass quickly and I knew the signs from some of my training and things others told me.

I would like to thank everyone for their good wishes.
