Topic: 75' CB550f rear wheel collar orientation?

Hello, I had my rear axle pulled apart for powder coating a while ago and now am trying to remember how things went back together. I have everything figured out except the sproket side collar that goes between the adjuster and goes through the oil seal to the bearing. It has a thick ridge end and a smaller straight end. I assume it slides through from the outside and the thick side goes on the outside against the adjuster, but cmsnl diagram kinda shows it going in backwards?

I have it installed how I think it should go (slide in from the outside) and it seems fine. The rear wheel fells kinda tight, but not sure if that is normal? Any help or pics would be greatly appreciated!

Actually, you've got it backwards! It fits behind the sprocket side cover plate with the flanged ("thick side") portion against the hub and the rest extending out through the opening in the plate, just as shown in the diagram:
