Bringing this back on topic: Could you use a 530 O-ring chain on a 550 with a offset front sprocket? Just ordered mine tonight. The chain I want is only offered in O-ring set up. I can use a Non O-ring standard chain still, but the one I really want is in O-ring only.

Thoughts?

so long as you offset the rear to suit, whats special about the chain you really want?i get years out of heavy duty non o ring chains,i always ran o rings on dirt bikes though.

Of course the rear will get the same offset. I am trying to stay with a certain color theme as I build the bike. And the color I want is only in O-ring application. I have to do a offset setup to clear the rear tire/wheel set up. 160/60/17 rear tire on a 4.5" wide rim. Im still  in the collecting parts stage. Im almost done getting all the major componants. Im just always trying to plan 5 steps ahead, so I can take the "next" step properly.

Hmm. Good point.. Didn't think of that. Its lime Green outer links. Plenty of options. Looking at the quick link set up. Its not that big of a deal I get that type of chain color. Im actually rethinking right now with a color chain. Don't want to throw too much at the bike and end up with a gawdy over the top look.

Lime Green powder coat frame
Factory look engine with pods (internal go fast and jetting planned)
Dark Gray on the tank and tins
60% gloss black powder on both rims and hubs/stainless Steel spokes and nipples
Lime green grips, levers, bar ends
Black leather seat.
Some metal brackets/accessories 60% gloss black powder coat.

Thats my color scheme plan
Both hubs and wheels already done. Not yet laced up.

ive seen green chain lube, its more of a brunswick green though,
It's not that easy being green;
Having to spend each day the color of the leaves.
When I think it could be nicer being red, or yellow or gold-
or something much more colorful like that.
It's not easy being green.
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things.
And people tend to pass you over 'cause you're not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water-
or stars in the sky.
