Fusebox replacement on CB400F
« on: March 11, 2014, 10:36:48 pm »
Hi all, been having issues with main fuse getting super hot to the point it melted my box enough to be concerning. I read to clean the clips, but at the state that it is in, I'd rather replace the whole thing.

Now the question is, I have found fuse boxes for 550s and 750s more readily available and usually cheaper than for the 400, would these fit correctly without any significant modifications? Any advice or thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Mine came from a 360t off of eBay. I think they're all the same.

While you're replacing the box go through the entire system cleaning all terminals and grounds, especially the connector from the rectifier...Larry

I just ordered one from Hondaman for my 750 and it bolts right into where the stock fuse box went. It's upgraded to the blade style fuses. I found it such a pain in the arse to get the glass fuses in the correct size (length). His also stores spare 3 fuses as well. Haven't gotten it yet but i've seen pictures and it looks really nice.

Thanks everyone! Absolutely going to check Hondaman, and good info on all the cross fitting units. Also just replaced my rec and cleaned the contacts through a good deal of the electrical system while troubleshooting.
