If it helps, I think these wheels were shared across a number of kawasakis. Far as i can tell by looking at fiches, these are off an 82-83 Kz 750. Marked as Enkei-2. 18" rear/19" front. Rear disc though. Pity, im quite fond of the look of a rear drum like on the stock 550.

Took a break from bike building to knock out some quick n dirty tools that have been impossible to find at our local hardwares. An 18 mm spark plug wrench for the tricky 550 spark plug cavity and a c-spanner for when i do the headbearings.

Thanks. It was in pretty shabby shape when I took it home. Been getting lots of solid advice on this forum plus lots of elbow grease every other weekend. I think I put all the pieces back together properly ...Remains to be seen whether it will actually start

I concur.  What you've done with that engine is nothing short of miraculous.  Outstanding work!

Some "custom" action   was missing some fiddly bits on my rear MC, quicker (and cheaper) to make than order.

Nice, Paolo. Did you leave the superstructure in place to form the cowl, or will it be removed? Or will the cowl even be removable?

Its just tacked to the rail to help form the cowl and will be removed once the cowl and seatpan is done and welded as one piece.. Im planning to have the cowl/seatpan secured by just two bolts for easy dissasembly..

Bit of grinding and cleanup and this is done.

Chopping board plastic is an excellent material for seat base/pan supports.

Test fitting the out-sourced upholstery. Unhappy with it. Too thick and no flow where it meets the tank . Will likely have a go at it myself. If you want something done right, you just have to do it yourself

Agreed, I like it mostly. Perhaps with a little trim of the top foam edge and some sitting-on it naturally may settle into position against the tank.

Great craftsmanship man, well done.

Seat and tank look great, is the tank remaining raw steel? Good to see a seat with some padding, a little trim at the front & it'll look great.
Im' sure you've got it covered, but don't forget to pack those tapered bearings with grease before driving them onto the stem.
