Can someone measure the long engine mount bolt that bolts the pegs on? I am guessing it is m12 but don't know the length.

I don't think I have a stock length one anymore to provide that measurement. My 550 is custom length, and I may have had to cut the 500 loose in the frame to free the motor from 28 years of outside abandonment. I'll double check in the am whether I still have one.

Perhaps another member has one available to measure in the mean time.

On my '78 CB550K, this is actually a long stud with M12x1.25 threads on both ends, with hex nuts and lock washers to secure the foot peg brackets.  The end-to-end length is very close to 14 inches, or about 355mm.

Turbo - I located the lower mounting bolt. Mine is also 355MM in length, 20MM of threads either end. Odd, mine is M12 but definitely 1.5 pitch, not 1.25 like Dave's. Don't know if there is a difference in the years... I don't have an M12 1.25 tap or die in my set, so I don't know if it was a Japanese standard in that era.

I hope these answers.
