Period 4 Racing in Australia?
« on: March 27, 2014, 12:46:42 AM »
Hi I apologize if this is in the wrong place to ask but it's a little bit urgent I want build a prd4 race bike here in OZ and the bike needs to be between the years 63-72 I have a couple of k2 frames which is fine and have an opportunity  to buy a K3 motor (2215819) My question is was it possible that this motor could have been put in a 1972 model bike

Cheers

According to this http://www.ace.net.nz/classic/numbers.htm it would seem that engine number was only used from 1973.
I'm only old on the outside.

You want to contact Bear on this forum (do a member search).  He races a P4 Honda chair in Oz.  From what I remember of your rules you can use any main casting (head / barrels / cases) from any year SOHC.  Best head is the F2.  As for the frame you'll find that none use an original frame as the base.  They are all use purpose built sidecar frames.

G'day Driller?

You can use any combination of motor/frame, doesn't matter what year.
Just as long as it's based on the SOHC750.
If I can help with anything drop me a line.

Cheers,
Brian
