Best Place for online OEM parts?
« on: April 07, 2012, 06:58:25 PM »
I haven't ordered OEM parts for a while. What's the current "best" place to order something right now in price, shipping and customer service in the United States?

Have a read here, I'm sure you'll find something that suits. I get most of my stuff from David Silver Spares in the UK. I don't know what shipping is worth to the US though.

Bike Bandit for some OEM items, but make sure they do not substitute a more modern part for the OEM part you really wanted.

I've had great luck with Western Hills Honda.  Decent prices and quick shipping.  Bike Bandit is ok too but they use their own parts numbering system that I'm not real fond of.
Here today, gone tomorrow.  Make the most of today!

I use Babbittsonline out of Michigan.  A real brick and mortar store with an online service.

Bikebandit has some great prices on OEM parts. Also Serious Consolidated Inc is the only place that I found who had carb kits for my 78 CB750k. Dime City has pretty good prices on cafe parts, too.

www.cyclepartswarehouse.com is the cheapest for Honda, period.

+1 72500john.  My local Honda dealer can obtain parts for my 750K1 in a few days if they are available.  Unfortunately most US part suppliers do not ship to Canada for some reason, at least that is my experience.  I use DSS for those special items, the turnaround is quite fast and the staff is very helpful.

I personally have spend hundreds of dollars :P over the last 6 years at both of the following and have had nothing but incredibly low prices coupled with reasonable shipping price and speed.

All OEM Honda parts, all the time-never crappy aftermarket substitutions. Also, both of their sites supply quality parts diagrams for you to browse and are easy to find what you need and order.

You made me think about it after I cheered knowing someone else would like to know what these control freaks are up to.
Every time any owner strips whatever precious Honda part the horrified purists parts go up in value. That's not the part that bothers them.
What bothers them is they sat up late at night, their breast full of wonder and estrogen, unable to sleep, dreaming about their lovely darling and all her glory... and next thing you know someone else doesn't share their emotional deluge and their reaction is they must spread their mind museum as far as they possibly can, taking over as much of the real world as possible.

I know, old thread, but...

Has anyone else noticed a lot of internet OEM parts dealers are using a new parts app that doesn't list anything before 1976 (or only list one bike for 1975)?

I can't get to my bike's parts on HDL and powersports pro anymore.

http://www.cyclepartsoutlet.com/ still has the older parts app.  Bikebandit still has the older bikes (but you'll pay more).

I hope this isn't a trend.

For parts that are still available from Honda, I always use http://www.discounthondaparts.com/default.asp
Great discount, fast service. But the main reason is that they--unlike so many other online dealers that are so popular in this forum--serve people who serve our country overseas. Many online dealers cannot be bothered to do so. They should not be supported.

I order through Partzilla, and get a 5% military discount. Which isn't the best discount rate, but it's some.

Usually, I'll look the part up on one of the Honda sites and copy and paste the part number in Partzilla and they usually have it cheaper.

The insulators for my 750 are 20 some bux on all the Honda sites and only 16 /17 bux on Partzilla.

And the parts I've been getting are OEM Honda
If it ain't raining, I'm riding.....~~{iii}?~~prost

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.

And they do ship to a military address (APO/FPO).
