Looking for these Doo-Dads.. Anyone got a spare set?
« on: September 11, 2006, 11:06:26 AM »

My friends K0 has a small adapter for his rear turn signals.

I like em but I haven't been able to find any.

When I bought the heap I am rebuilding, it had a HUGE King & Queen seat with the turn signal mounts built into the sissy bar.

Now that the seat is gone I need to find a stream lined approach to mount the rear signals.

Any suggestions welcome.

Johnny

The Doo-Dahs you´re looking for are the stock mounts for the rear indicators.
Are you going for a stock look or would you consider to skip the massive, stock indicators and go for something more streamlined like these?
They mount with a bolt through the hole.

Cheers

Drool.

Er... yeah. Those would be great.

Fantastic even. Where'd ya lay hands on those snazzy signals?

Well, I found mine here: http://www.bikeline.se/
It´s a H***ey-shop in Sweden, but I guess you can find them in a shop over there.
Not the cheapest but they are nice, paid about 12$ each for them.
Also changed the 10 watt bulbs they came with to 23 watts...

Cheers
Daniel

I got my lights outta the drag specialties catalogue.
They were chrome before I sprayed them black , and they are bright as hell... ;)

They are a dual fillement 1157 automotive style bulb, so they can be wired different ways.
Currently I have them acting as both running and brakelights.

Thanks for the great links. I've got to do something with mine. The fronts are still stock and the rears I replaced with some elcheapo light just to have something on for inspection.... But, the local government is starting to crack down on such things (not that they have a problem with straight pipes, but if your blinkers are too small, Watch out, there buddy!!!)

I'm really okay with it, thought, I don't like the lights I have on the back anyway. They work, and you can see them, but they just don't look right on the bike, you know.

By the way, jrrobertsjr, that is one sweet looking right you've got going on there. I can't wait to see it done!!!

Yep. After seeing those signals on DME's and ProTeal55's bike, I am not going to be OK with stock.

I am going to probably have to fabricate longer posts since I am using the turn signal mounts to mount my headlight bowl as well.

Many thanks for the info guys and another thanks to KB02 for the compliment.

I have never had a steeper learning curve in my life. I remember thinking, "I'll just build a little cafe racer in my spare time."

Ha! I am glad I didn't know then what I know now!

Stripping paint off the motor this weekend. Picking up grips and carb rebuild kits this week and some 4 into 2 exhaust within the month.

At this point I figure I should be able to start it some time in December.

Proteal55, do you get any grief over your Honda from the TonUp guys? I run with the http://www.tonuphouston.com guys and I get a bit for rebuilding one. The more flak I get the more determined I am to make it run.

The Chicago Ton-Up guys gave me alittle #$%* for having a Honda, but when they saw andheard it, they changed their tune. It is def. a Triumph bunch of guys, but I like being the odd man out.. ;D

I've got a Triumph and as soon as the CB750 is somewhat stable, I will probably sell the Triumph.

I've got a ways to go.

I love British bikes and will probably rebuild one but I wanted to learn what was involved with a restoration so I picked a CB750 to cut my teeth on.

Now I love the bike and it has earned a lot of my respect by busting my knuckles on a daily basis.

Johnny out.

Lockhart Phillips makes some cool little round style lights that look pretty similar to the stock ones. Just tiny.
