One of the bummers about riding an XL250 for 24 hours is the crappy 6v headlight, which runs off one of the coils and not the battery. It would be expensive to upgrade to a 12v system, and due to our $500 budget we can't afford it. Our bike is missing the entire assembly, but I do have a bucket & ring for a CB125S that might work. I can get a new CB100/125 assembly (bucket, light, ring) for ~$35 shipped from Thailand, or an XL250 assembly for $45ish. I really need it all to be cheaper than that though - so does anybody know what models of Kawasakis, Yamahas & Suzukis used 6v systems? Maybe I can find a used light cheaper if I know what to look for.... Thanks.

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

I've been talking about this with some buddies of mine, and one of them recommended using this light housing:

with this bulb:

Stock setup on my XL250 (and on other 6v 70's Hondas) would be 35/35W. This is 60/55W. Do you think that my system would have enough output to run the newer light?
