77/78 are a different looking smooth caliper with its own thicker swing bracket. Bleeder and inlet are at 12 oclock, and brake line angles outward..
The other calipers have 2 brackets, 69 -72 and 73-76..

All of the '69-'75 calipers will fit all the '69-'75 caliper arms from every year, despite cosmetic differences like fins and ribs. The mounts all interchange, too, although they don't look like it until you actually bolt them in place.  :)

I disagree on the mounts: I have K7 forks, and there is no way that my earlier caliper mounts, that were on my K1 forks, will bolt up to the legs. I looked at this again, just this afternoon.

True: the F1-K8 disc calipers are different. I'm referring to the K0-K6 ('69-'75 models).  ;)

Thanks. When did they change to the two-piece mount; the type with the bolt hole in the steel pin, and the aluminum top piece with two bolt holes? (I need one :()

The 3 hole mount came out in 73.. along with new fork tubes, that allow seal changes with forks in trees, and a little fender for the brake disc.

The 3 hole mount is cleaner and far easier to work with.. iMO..

OK, now I'm confused, again. The mounts on the K1 were 3 holes, in an aluminum piece, with a steel pin to connect the caliper swing-arm. The K7 has an aluminum piece, with two holes, and a steel pin with one bolt hole at the bottom.

What I mean is 3 holes only, on the brake hanger, the T shaped one as opposed to the C shaped earlier style that had an extra bolt for the brake line and different fender mounts..

Frank, what's the difference in the calipers/mounts between the A and the K3-6?  With the exception of the A's longer fork length and air adjust they look the same to me...  ???   RR

Interesting information, Nippon. Thanks! But my question was regarding the Automatic front caliper vs. the K3-6 and how they differed. I'm trying to determine swapability between mid-K's, Automatics, and late 550's. And no, I haven't checked the parts books yet on these particular parts.

I have determined that the F2 rear caliper is the same as the F2 right front caliper, and that the DOHC dual puck calipers with mounts will fit the K7-8 forks, but I'm still figuring out some of the other usable combinations. But thanks again.  RR

76 A had the hard-cromed forks before the 77/78 came out with them, and I believe late style smooth  caliper and hanger.. as far as I know..

So I have a 76 750F. I have the Hard chromed forks you say the Auto has. And my calipers are the feed and bleed at 12 o'clock high. Am I limited to 75 and 76 F and A for matching duals?
