It's been around since I can remember, and I'm 57.  I'm livin' the dream, since I'm living in my childhood home, and working in the old man's shop.  I've added some stuff, and it's getting a bit crowded.  But I manage.  I also have a couple woodworking vises as well.
My first impression on your large vice was that it was in very good original condition for its age, and like mine that my Father had it seems to have a good history. Now on the other hand be careful talking about those "little" ones. Phizer has a cure for that   ;D  ;D   8)

I also have a couple woodworking vises as well.

Now you'll have to show us those too.  Do you have one for champagne?!

No, but I've been drinking champagne when I've used one.

Here's a pic of the one that has a brand.

My late brother in law got me a winton clone at Sams club years ago. Apparently Chinese. I was abusing it a little and knocked bondo off of it, now that's a quality casting L0L.

Possibly their Chinese casting may have had slag on it ? I hate Chinese Vise's,you can't
get enough torque on'em when you're 'whacking' the 'he**' out'a something.

I stopped throwing away money at the "box" stores years ago. If you need something thats gong to function pay for it, if you want cheap and cheesy give your money to Sam Walton and his buddies or save time and throw it in the landfill.

My shop vise, I believe it is from harbor freight, was a gift from my grandfather (why I'm not sure where it came from). I used to have a smaller craftsman vice but it cracked where the base attached to the bench. It's been a decent cheep vise.

My vice has what appears to be bondo also...

I have used it for years though

I also have this vice:

If you are ever curious when the big Wilton in the last pic was made there is a date stamped on the underside of the round section if you unscrew and remove the front jaw  ;)

Good to know, I'll check it out some time.

It is actually just sitting on a center post leg for an old table. The table top is off, leaning against the wall. I am planning to make a larger top for the table, anchor one side to a wall, and support the other side with the original leg. The Wilton will then be anchored to the new table. I have it at a workshop where I do stained glass work and make handles for knifes. Soon I will have a small forge up and running to make the blades too.

I found this vice in one of the barns on my father in-laws property after he passed away. It's from the early 1900's.

It cleaned up nicely.

My Dad gave me one a few years back and I never used it.  I had to go look at it, says "Columbian" on it.
