I'm putting this event on my bucket list to come watch. My brother already told me he added it to his. Who knows,  we might show up with a bike one day.

Bucket smucket fukit Frank. Fly to Denver and I'll pick you up on the way. If it's just you and I, I will be driving the Vette. If my roomie comes along you'll have to ride in the boring Subaru Outback.

The question is... How much longer will Dennis pursue this? As you know and I found out with you guys it's a lot more fun when you have a team to learn with/from.

Just got off the phone with my brother. Once I let him know the dates, we'll look closer at our schedules for this event. We may be there this year!!!

Probably Friday afternoon 8/23 to Wednesday 8/28 for me. I have 700 miles to drive. Get in Friday to grab a better spot for early pit set up Saturday morning I believe. I think Dennis has a couple rooms reserved at Super 8 in Wendover.

I plan to arrive in the pits by noon on Saturday the 24th after driving in from Pocatello..............maybe earlier if all goes well. Tech is all day Saturday.....rider's meeting at 8:AM on Sunday.......then racing begins........I hope to be on the road home by Wednesday evening.

Jerry.........if you get to the HOTEL 6 they should have rooms in my name.  Other rooms are available and the rates begin at about $50..........

Frank...........BMST .............not the SCTA event. Racing begins on Sunday the 25th.............ends Thursday the 29th...........Sunday, Monday includes Run What You Brung..........a lot of the top bikes wait until Tuesday or so to run the hardest...........if the salt is good for a LONGGGGGG International course of 9 or more miles, the streamliners will put on a show ;)

The hour or so of running the bike on the access roadways at Road America provided valuable time to seat the rings in the new bores......same as before.......just new. The day ended with a crash........very minor.......I tipped over while turning at about 2-mph :o All scratches on the bike were removed in less than an hour. I had no marks on me and my helmet did not hit the tarmac.

Oil has been changed to HONDA Professional 10w30 synthetic. All looks promising. It was gratifying to have the clutch and tranny working as expected after just a bench tune. Dave and I can hardly believe how well the motor pulls from low RPMs in all gears. 12-days to pack and do the final mount of the fairing.

I'd post a few pics if someone will tell me how.............

Tanks for te clarification. I fiure it out later and Jerry corrected me  via pone conversation. It seems tat date is a conflict for me. I ave a race  wit XDA in Virinia tat weekend. Looks like itll be next year before I can make it appen if no conflicts arise.

Glad the tranny and engine are in working order. You'll be leaving with a tried product and that will boost your confidence going into the event. Good luck and post a lot of pictures- once you figure out the process. Lol

Salt was too wet to start Speed Week yesterday I read. They expect it might be dry enough by Monday.

Salt has not been too good this week with some spin outs by cars on the course. The rain last Thursday made the surface a bit slushy and it has not dried out enough yet. The 6 mile course was shortened to 4 miles. Not that conditions stopped a 332mph run being made by George Poteet in Speed Demon.

Hope things improve further and your experiences are positive on the salt this year Dennis.
