Rear Tail Light Options
« on: September 11, 2006, 11:12:40 AM »
I am looking for a Lucas style Tail Light that will mount over the holes that are already there from the previous light.

I have seen a couple on others bikes but I am trying to find ione with the right curve for the fender and one that looks like it is positioned correctly.

Any suggestions from those that have had some success with this?

Johnny

I have a friend that has an 850 Commando. I will ask if he has a spare tail light mount to see how it looks.

Thanks.

I am planning on the same thing.  What I want to do is modify the original bracket because it has the proper curve.  IF you cut off the mount for the original light, an round one should fit in pretty nicely.

Good idea on using the old mount. Hmmmm.....

As far as the size, I would like to have it small like one of the old school ones that have the word "STOP" stamped on to them.

The worlds my oyster right now. The stock turn signals are even on it now till I find something I like better.

All a work in progress.

If you'll go to 650motorcycles.com and then go to Mike's XS parts, you'll find what you need. Haven't checked lately but, that didn't used to be priced too badly. You'll possibly find other things of interest, even though it's actually for Yamaha XS650 stuff. Check it out.
