I have had the splice kit in for over a year and 4-5K miles no issues at all. Before you screw the plastic nuts on pack them with dialectic grease helps keep road spray out.
+10 on the rubber hose keep it in your tool kit. It also helps from cross threading. My local Honda shop keeps the ND plugs in stock the owner has a K6 750. I hope it is my last set with the HondaMan box :)

The rubber hose idea is genius.  And, I wish I'd known about earlier!  Next time I'll be better prepared.  Thx guys.

Black 750K8:  are you actually packing the connector full of dielectric grease, or just smearing it around to create a seal btwn the wire & connector?  i have grease to line the new boots, but doing the connector too is a good idea.

I did the splicing yesterday, and everything looks great.  Bike started right up and ran well.  I thought other people might benefit from some pics and a quick explanation of the splicing, so I started a new topic so it's easier to find.  Check it out if you're interested, and thx again for the help!!
