Thank you Johnnie!  It is nice to get a visual. And thats exactly what he was asking, he didnt seem to like the original ball bearings... do you suggest switching to the tapered ones? If so what are good ones to get?

I could be wrong but it looks right to my rookie eye... thinking $50 sounds like a decent deal

That rear wheel appears to be a good deal as long as not too rusted and spins straight.

Just double checking that this is the exact all balls bearing kit that i need.  If so its on the way.

Just something to keep in mind when you get your new unicorn....   the top bolts (where the D washers go) have a very specific torque requirement,  6.5 tp 9.4 Foot pounds - which is very little torque. I'd buy or borrow a torque wrench, or its real easy to over torque and break the new triple.  Also do a search and read up about aligning the front end.  Everything should go together easily if the forks are aligned, you don't want to force anything together.

I am still waiting on the guy to give me a tracking number on the seat and tree.  Taking a bit longer than I expected.  I did get pipes in the mail today.  They are clean and will do for now. I will put up pictures later.

I took off the old headers and soaked the flanges in evaporust for the heck of it.  They turned a whole gallon black, guess it did them good haha.  I am trying to get them re-chromed to match the pipes. I am probably going to put the old heads back on while I get everything running right.

I am waiting for a tracking number or the seat and tree to get here before I order the bearing kit. Will keep you updated!

Also, less than a month until I graduate woohoo!

You can use any centerstand... Dont get analysis on the parts right now..pricey..
 Be careful with fender, i would not use a steel hammer..might be better get an expert to fix it.
Fender I think has 2 types 3 hole and 2 hole..one is harder to find....be carefull.

How Do i know which one I have? And I have found a few.... debating whether or not to get a set of pegs center stand and side stand and some other goodies that are chrome or just grab a black normal one.

When it comes time to install your center stand here is how she looks. Do you have the half moon bracket yet?

I do not have the bracket.  I am hoping it comes with the stand.... I know in that chrome set it does come with the bracket.

I meant don't get anal in my post, there is an early centerstand that can be pricey,and 77/78 may have differences..but anything up to 75 or. A76 k....should work if in good condition.
 Smooth air cleaners are easy to break if original save some grief and get a newly made one.

I found a ribbed box and decided to grab it.

Does anyone know what the bolt specs are for the rear passenger pegs?  I am going to try and mount this exhaust today and have no rear pegs to go off of.

Well... the guy with the box backed out so I am still looking for one.  IDK why they are so tough to find I have heard the ribbed ones are a dime a dozen.  Any help???  I also am looking for some passenger pegs.  I may just buy that chrome set I have been eyeballing.  Just waiting on parts as of now.  Tree and seat should be here soon, all balls tapered bearing kit has been shipped too. 

ALSO.... did some trading and now own a 1975 CL360 and a 1983 Honda cb1000 custom (parts bike).  If anyone is interested in the 1000 I would sell it for a couple hundred.  Still has motor, stock hm431 (if i remember right) pipes, good looking front end.

The 360 is here to stay, I think.  Unless I could find someone to trade me a 350.

Okay so I got my All Balls bearing kit today but in the listed models as far as cb750 goes it only say from k1-k5... did I get the wrong one?  I just clicked the link and hit order haha.  Item number 130272

Update:  Seat, tree, and bearing kit are here.

Seat is in good shape other than the minor tear which I can fix easy.  It its a really tight fit though... im not sure why I needed to tweak the bracket the pin slides through to mount... then realized it was really hard to close.  May have a little adjusting to do to get it back right after the other seat has been on for so long.

The tree is in good shape also, but no "D" washers --_-- so what to do there I do not not know.

I am still looking for a freaking center stand!! ahhhhh

And an airbox.  After that I should be good.

You are the best!  I am ordering a new airbox right meow. Figured I might as well just bite the bullet on it.

Anyone have any suggestions on where I can post this cb1000 parts bike?  I would like to part it out to help finance this build...

I have been checking them out but havent found one I like yet.  I have been reading up on this tree replacement.... any advice before I start in?  I hear its almost essential to have the center stand so I might hold off...

Also,  I was thinking of getting it powder coated.  Is that a no-no or something that should be done.  And if so shoud I get the whole thing powder coated or leave the stem untouched?

I just rebuilt the front end of my K4 and dont have a center stand, I attached a piece of angle iron to my garge ceiling and used a ratchet strap to lift it along with a floor jack.
It left a lot of room under it to work on it safely...



Sure you can PC your triple, obviously not where the bearing will be installed though.
