Dino's a newlywed.  He's probably enjoying the hot summer.  ;)

I admit I got a little burned out on Hack A Week in general. Imagine working a full time job, having a home life and yet somehow finding time to do all the things that need to be done around the home PLUS work on a motorcycle project PLUS shoot video of the the project which means the project time requirement triple! Then edit the video and post it online EVERY WEEK!

I needed a break.

So, I decided to take the summer off. I just got back from a 3k mile solo road trip on my BMW K1200RS. It was a much needed escape from it all! Lot's of great twisty back roads AND I hit up Tail of The Dragon on the way home. The Dragon is a stretch of route 129 on the North Carolina Tennessee border with 318 turns in 11 miles!

I'll be back on the CB before the end of September with videos posted as the project progresses.

In the meanwhile, here's an on board video of my ride on The Dragon.

It's good to be back! I had some much needed down time and had the chance to update my channel music, appearance and my video editing software. I'm using Adobe Premiere CC now and I love it! Much more creativity at my fingertips. I produced the new music on my Korg Kaossilator Pro Dynamic Phrase Synthesizer. The thing is an amazing piece of musical equipment!

So... more carburetor. Got them mounted up to the stay plate. Enjoy!

Does everyone realize how much time it takes to make one of these? Not only in rehearsal and run throughs but in post production.

Does everyone realize how much time it takes to make one of these? Not only in rehearsal and run throughs but in post production.

Just from the little video I have done I know it is extremely time consuming and can be frustrating.  It took me a full day to figure out how to find a free Ubuntu video editing program, force Ubuntu to like it, then some trial and error to get it to work.  Guys like Dino who work hard to put on a quality show deserve lots credit.

If anyone read my never ending video edit post you will know the computer hardware, cameras, and software is not cheap either.  Dino does a great job and provides tremendous value to others, and his videos have helped many with his builds.

Donations are what keep HackAWeek on the air.  I say it is time for HackAWeek pledge drive!  I will kick it off with a $25 donation.  http://hackaweek.com/hacks/?page_id=31

Thanks Dino keep up the good work!

Its people like Dino who are the heroes and champions of youtube.

+100  We have many, many great members who are willing to go out of their way to help fellow members here.  Many of us donate parts, or even offer up their time and are willing to drive clear across state to help another member who is in trouble or needs help.  When I think of Dino he truly embodies the spirit of SOHC4, and everything I like about the forum.  I came here for the motorcycles, but I stay here for the people.  Dino is really amazing if you think about.

While many members are willing to help others with a specific task none that I no of are willing do drive to your house and guide you through every step of your build, and that is exactly what Dino has done for us on HackaWeek.

I did a quick tally and there is 27 episodes totaling 634 minutes or 10 hours of footage just for the 73 cafe build.  Now triple that number for build and video editing time and you are at 30 hours.  This is just a guess as I have no idea how long it actually takes.

One thing I don't know is that you would not have one of your friends come over work on your bike for 30 hours and at least offer him a case of beer.  If there was a member of a year award I would give it to Dino.

Well said Chew.. I agree and when you tally up all the other stuff he has done (bikes and non-bikes) its really awesome. I liked for example the videos he put out on making his own rings for him and his wife.. Very cool stuff. Love how he does it step by step and does not make you feel dumb for not knowing or asking what may seem like simple questions.

Thanks Dino!

IF you have viewed Dino's videos and found them useful, please think about kicking in a donation to help fund their continuance.  I think Dino's videos provide excellent value since they go beyond just photos but actual live assembly and the identification of pitfalls to avoid.  The live assembly is something even our most encyclopedia-type build threads cannot provide.

If you can, please think about kicking in some dollars.  http://hackaweek.com/hacks/?page_id=31

Kudos to Dino.  Keep up the good work.

Thanks to you all for the kind comments and donations! It does indeed take a great deal of time and commitment to produce these videos. Every one of my videos you see on YouTube has an average of five hours of my time behind it. There's also the money spent on supplies and equipment so the donations really help. Thanks for posting the link here on the SOC4 forums.

I enjoy sharing my many talents and projects on my YouTube channel. I'm out to inspire people! When I get feedback telling me that I've inspired someone it means I've achieved my goal and it makes me feel like I'm doing something worthwhile.

Stay tuned... there's more on the way!

Thanks for watching and... keep on hackin! :)

I'm just wondering how / where to 'sticky' a link to Dino's videos on this site. Of course, they're so comprehensive, that would pretty much end the discussion around here.  :P ;) 8)
