I think most of us have a story like that Dino....at least the guys that have been riding for 30 years or so. ;D I was watching one of your videos the other day....when you were putting the cylinder head on. I was watching how careful you were not to drop the cam chain down the tunnel (you are very careful about all the stuff you do which is a great thing).  It made me remember building an engine for a fella and flipped the chain down the tunnel.....I thought he was going to have a heart attack. ;D ;D He was OMG...OMG....you have to pull the engine apart now.I remember I went an got an extendable magnet and brought it to the surface. I thought the dude was going to sh!t his pants. My point is the cam chain can easily be retrieved....I don't know where the the notion of the tunnel being a mechanical black hole came from but it isn't true. ;) ;D

Yup, I've seen that on other engine build videos, too. We all learn, little by little.   :D   :D :D

Dropping anything ELSE in there, though, does suck  :)

You must have edited a lot out of that brake assembly, that took me forever to solve that puzzle.

OK guys I need some advice please. The P.O. provided most of the hardware to install a dual disc front brake setup. I have two discs, two complete calipers with mounting arms, new seals, the master cylinder with new reservoir. I'm missing the rubber hoses and hard lines and a way to split the single line from the master into two outlet lines to go to the calipers. Any suggestions on alternate parts for a dual disc setup? Thanks in advance.

You can split the lines by simply getting a double banjo bolt. That way you can keep the stock brake line union on the triple tree and just use a 2nd brake hose and hard line to connect to the other caliper.

The banjo threads are an M10x1.25.

Great idea and thanks! I just found this on Ebay for less than $20. Now I just need a longer banjo bolt and another hard line. :)

... and I just found another hose and line assembly for $22. DONE! I can always replace the hoses with new stuff later. I'm after getting it together and functional first, then doing some refinements later.
Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure if I missed it or not but what size of tires are you running on that bike? I watched one video and they mentioned they were 18" rims.

HOORAY!!!!

Good call on the Oury grips. I have always been a fan of their mountain bike grips. I'll never get anything else for my CB750 now, either. Been running them since last year.

FWIW, if you don't have grip glue, ShoeGoo works wonderfully!

Test drive!

Hey Dino! I've been watching Hackaweek for the past few days, and I wanted you to know how invaluable it is....you're a fantastic teacher, and have helped tremendously with my K5 build. It's fantastic to see your name here as a member. The amount of knowledge within this board is mind blowing. Your videos should be sticky'd....they alone answer a lot of questions that are commonly asked I bet.

Looking forward to watching next week's episode.  Keep up your great work.
