Hello from Augsburg/Germany
« on: March 27, 2014, 02:02:55 AM »
Hello all,

some small words from a old single OHC- fan. I am from Germany, so  at school I was not the best in languages  - so please forgive me really bad english.

I have no Honda in my garage  :-\- but two single OHC Benellis - yes the shamless copies of the 500 Four but with two extra cylinders  ;)
But i love all SOHC- Bikes, especially the "mother" of my Benelli emgines- the 500 four.

My most interest is in racing with the sohc fours (and sixies).

Hope I am welcome though I have no Honda.

Anton

Hi Benelli, Put up a few pictures I'd like to see them. Seems to be a few of us that have some love for all old bikes!  ;)

Hello all,

thanks for the welcome.

I have one stock 900 Sei. I bought the bike in 1988 and have a lot of good time with it.

The other Sei is a very special bike: The engine have 960ccm (Pistons from a Honda), 6 Dellorto carbs (stock only 3), 6-1 manyfold and a special frame (like the Egli frames, but not from Egli). Two similar bike runs 1983- 86 in the German superbike championship, but not with much success. So for me this is a replica of that bikes, I call it "Demharter replica". Demharter was the importer of Benelli in this years and the first driver of the race bike.
The engine of the "replica" looks for more power and so i hope I found some inspiration in our really nice and intersted forum.
Try to load up some pictures of the bikes, but I cant do that. Read anywhere, I must first writing 5 posts bevore I can upload some pictures? Try to create a album in the gallery to upload the pictures there.

My first Benelli (stock) you will find there:

Quote
Benelli sold 293 Seis in 1974, 1,479 in 1975, 1,145 in 1976 and 283 in 1977. The Sei was recast as a 900 in 1978, but less than 2,000 were built.
Full story I'm quoting from http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/classic-italian-motorcycles/benelli-sei-750.aspx?PageId=1

The 900's are very rare, 10 year run with a total of 2000 bikes. Quick rough adv. is like what, 200 bikes per model year?

Here is one that sold at auction http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/21389/lot/234/ note: this one was never ridden!

Herzlich Willkommen im Forum, Anton!

I love your Benelli bikes. The second bike looks even more awesome than the first. Only the huge license plates are an eye sore.
I am stationed in Landstuhl, near Kaiserslautern, for two more years. Perhaps, we meet some time.
In the meantime, how about posting more pics of these two beauties in the "Other Bikes" section?
