New to me 1977 CB750A
« on: July 20, 2014, 09:52:00 PM »
I just purchased a 1977 CB750A. Bike sat for 15 years. The good so far only two owners one who never road it just sat in his garage waiting for some loving. The original owner kept a folder of everything done to the bike since purchase. Comes with kick starter, tool kit, owners and shop manual. Motor is not locked up. Only 7k on the clock. The bad other than cosmetic. No chain and from what he has told me needs front brake rebuilt, carb cleaned, new battery, new front tire. Bike is rusty but not a big issue for me. I will post pictures. My main concern before a complete rebuild is to get her running. I have never worked on a bike but have working on cars, trucks, tractors, and all sorts of small engine machines. I am wondering what y'all would suggest to start with. Now before you try to get me to jump in my garage there is a very important fact you should know. The bike is back in Texas. And I'm in a certain place with the army. I am starting a book for the bike and researching how to and techniques. I have the shop manual on my computer and have been reading it cover to cover.  I do have someone that can check simple stuff on the bike for me. Looking forward to chatting with anyone who will hear me rant.

My parts list so far is 88link 630 chain, 15t front and 42t rear sprockets, battery, 4 carb kits, oil & filter, air filter, and spark plugs. Let me know what y'all think.
