Hopefully there wont be any serious bends in the road.

I rented a V-Rod once for a full day -even got my driving license with it- and let me tell you it's a bad ass. with 115 hp on tap, it can outrun our CB750 and many other bikes, being hindered only by the aerodinamics. Handling is superb too. That's a Harley I wouldn't mind to own.

I think you will be surprised on both fronts. That Porsche/Harley VROD engine is quick. I would expect it to eat up my Super Sport and the SS isn't stock. I'm not biased toward either since I have a 75 750F & a Fat Boy.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

The V-Rod is the favourite in Germany for customization. Man, if you hate that Biker build off programs you should see the jewels they are building in Germany. Those germans really know a thing or two about engineering. I have a "Dream Machines" magazines that had a monography about V-Rod transformation. Unbelievable.

There is a new model called Night Train or something like that, based on the V-rod, with a 2to1 exhaust and a small cowling and that bike means business!!!

V-Rods are fast - but are Ugly/Overpriced/& Uncomftable in my opinion (which I am entitled to have)
Give me a Road King Classic with forward controls, no windshield and a solo seat anyday....

I can't help but think that if the engine had been designed and built by Toyota or Nissan, instead of Porsche, if the Germans would still be interested in customizing it, or for that matter even giving it a second glance.  I've found that those that are German-brand loyal, don't give a rat's ass about anything non-German.

Maybe, but it's a fact that in Germany there is a big following of everything Harley related. The V-Rod is just the baddest of all Harleys, so hardcore bikers could not settle down for less. That being said, if I were a german and had Mercedes, Porsche, BMW and Audi just the opposite building I wouldn't go downtown to buy a Chevrolet or a Seat (not spanish anymore). It's easy to be proud of your nation's products when they are winners.

I can attest to the fact that Germans enjoy the HDs.  I toured the HD factory about three years ago and there were two German couples who came to the states just for that purpose.
Is anyone interested in touring the CB750 factory with me? ;)

Nice avitar their Sparty...

Ditto, but I like your 4 pistons better.  If I can get a larger version of your avitar, I can have some T-shirts made with the CB750 theme.  I'd sell them on this forum for cost, plus shipping.  Unless the forum would like to use it as a fund raiser.

Just an FYI...
The Ton-Up is pretty particular with their logo ,and who gets to use/wear/distribute it They actually told me to wait to use their logo as my avitar on this site before I became a full flegged member (which I am now). Not saying you cant print and do what you want with it, just thought I would let you know you might be pissing off awhole lotta people...

Pro,

Oh, I know all about Copyright.  I would be sure to get it approved by a club before use.  My wife is an attorney and I'd make sure to dot all of my "i's".
