no spark or no electrics, period?
check your block connectors behind the ignition and in the headlight shell.
turn your key on and watch for the lights to flicker as you wiggle the connections...

Dyna ignition or such ? Check the main power feed wire- check fuses-check ground- make sure kill switch is off- Check wire leading to and going into the ignition switch. Check wires around coils-.Check battery connection-- Is the engine spinning but not firing ?

Crank and jiggle the kill switch? If that's on "OFF" (or a malfunction) then it will never spark as well...

If all connections and fuses check out good. I'm thinking both coils went bad...but both coils at the same time?

Found instructions on the power arc website: try running a wire directly from the battery+ to the red wire of the power arc.

We are working on a backup plan.

Hoping to find a stock setup. I'm not familiar with this setup.  ::)

I have power to the coils and the spinning ignition plate thingy. It is an optically fired ignition system that fires a laser at a spinning plate and sends a signal to spark when the hole in the plate lines up w/ the laser on each revolution. None of the power leads in the loom register an intermittent spark consistent with this rotation, they are on all the time. My assumption is that the the plate has failed and needs to be replaced.
Questions - Are my coils good? How can I test for this?
              - Will stock points and condensor be compatible w/ the Cycle Exchange coils?
              - What is a good source for a stock or aftermarket replacement system that I can have shipped to our hotel in Lake Havasu?
              - Is it really so bad to be stranded in Lake Havasu and surrounded by bikini clad college girls on spring break?
So much to do, so little time.

Question: will a stock points plate and points work with the cycle x system?

I checked and the plate, points and condensers are still available from Honda.

Still waiting on a reply from Harris Motors.

Check the static timing LED on the power arc ignition unit. Turn the crank over slowly and see if it lights at TDC. If it does not and there is power to both it and the coil (and a good ground to the baseplate) it is likely the unit is NFG. The Power Arc coils have 2.8 ohms resistance so it may tax a point system.

The light comes on, ground is good, power to it and the coil. I called Cycle Exchange but the guy who knows of such things was not there today. He'll be back in the morning. I'll call him then and see if he concurs and hopefully he can overnight me a new unit.

Questions - Are my coils good? How can I test for this?
Do you have a multimeter?  Or, maybe a test lamp?  You just need to check continuity between primary leads and then secondary leads.  If the wires inside aren't broken or burned out, they should work.

              - Will stock points and condensor be compatible w/ the Cycle Exchange coils?
Should be.  Do you recall the primary resistance rating?

              - Is it really so bad to be stranded in Lake Havasu and surrounded by bikini clad college girls on spring break?
Yes. If you are married and being followed by a P. I.

Matt, I probably have all the stock parts, but it would take a day or two to round them up and get them in the mail, and then a day or two to reach you. Would you also need the stud that threads into the crank, or does the power arc use the stock stud?

Spoke w/ Ken at Cycle Exchange. He believes that my points plate thingy is bad and is overnighting one to me at cost w/ discounted shipping. Oh, well. Another day in paradise. I'm off to the lake to see the sights.
