Everything was going smoothly.  Got the crank and pistons back in.  Oil pump was back in and primed and as I'm about to put the rocker shafts back in I see this.  The surfaces are cratered, one really bad.  I thought it was kind of strange since this is not a rotating part.  There is a bolt that fits in the middle of the shaft to keep it from rotating.  What would you do about this?  There is another engine block on ebay but the seller didn't answer my request to take pictures of this specific area.

The bottom pic does not look like wear - but a casting flaw - looks like it has been there since it was new.  Most likely no problem.
1978 CB750A (upgrading very, very slowly)
