Mounting brackets for 5 3/4" headlight
« on: April 02, 2014, 08:35:16 PM »
Anyone know where I would be able to find Headlight brackets for a smaller headlight? I ordered a 5 3/4" and some plain Emgo brackets but the angle of the brackets in too sharp to get the screws through the sides of the bucket. I tried making some little spacers but I dont think I can get it tight enough without damaging the headlight shell. So what i am looking for is an offset bracket.

Or would a bottom mount be better? how would I go about that?

Bend the brackets or make your own bottom mount..

Im not sure if bending them is an option, i think they are cast aluminum and will snap. As far as the bottom mount goes, where would you mount it to?

Oh them bracket,  should be easy to make spacers but headlines is way narrower I think.
Bottom mount bolts on fork clamp bolts, but they are not flat to each other,so slight bend there.

You'll be much better off going with a bottom mount bucket with that size IMHO. If your only option is to side mount it, you could fab a headlight bracket a la ducati monster (look on eBay and you should see something). I have a 5-3/4" bottom mount on my gixxer swap frontend. I used a simple piece of angle iron from the hardware store:

And then drilled and tapped right into the bottom steering yoke?
