Let's talk about switches. We all like to rotate them to where they lever feels comfortable for our hands. Also, being able to rotate the switches in the right spot makes it so your mirrors can actually be useful as well.

So on my CB750, the previous owner grinded the pin so it can be rotated as far as it wants. I had a hard time getting the switch housing to tighten on the bar, but I think that was because I was using washers on the bolts.

So my CB450 now has the opposite issue. I want to rotate the left switch downward because my left mirror is pointed down too much, and my lever sits up too much (which means the switch housing needs to be rotated more). But that stupid pin is prohibiting movement.

So is it common to grind that pin down so I can finally get some real rotation, or is there another way to do it?

cant you just pull that tap/pin in kontakt housing. ..is it a press in... or thredet type?..and put it back..if the bike have to be sold....

Hey thanks man! That thing just pulls right out with your finger tips. Easy enough. My CB750's was like, stuck in and can't be removed.

If it won't move,use vise grips on it,then tap VG with hammer.

Is that pin there to keep the switch housing from rotating?  It does, in a tip over it could shear the wires routed inside the handlebars.  I do agree that the pinned locations never never seem to work for me.
