Looks like it was already broken at some point and somebody did the JB Weld if it was like that when you got it.

Great find. With the sprocket cover removed I noticed a guard....... I have never seen one of those before. You may want to go the Vermont route if the title does not come up.

No that was my try:( I also unfortunately blew apart the stock ruby red air cleaner:( I really slowed down from that point forward, lol.I just disassembled everything and cleaned up the cases & carb bodies then put it all in bins for now. I'll probably start back into it soon though.

Yes, recessed key ignition, with two extra keys unrelated to the bike

In CA, getting bikes that has been out if system isn't all that trouble, just need to take the bike in for inspection, but yes will consider Vermont route as an option

Gold - you should consider putting a proper paint job on that bike. Would be worth the investment in the end.

Yes, recessed key ignition, with two extra keys unrelated to the bike

What numbers on them?  I may be interested in one if it's right, and you want to sell..

Should have mention those extra keys are regular keys, I also have few other honda keys that I don't have ignition for.  Pm me if you have specific numbers that you need, or I'll look and make list.

Yes, have already been considering options.  Candy blue/green was its original, so I'll stick with that.  Yamiya set seems to be the easiest route, other option is source parts and paint kit from don dirty biker and paint myself but of course I make mess more than make good, lol

You mentioned the wrinkle tank is chromed, right?  I wonder if it can be saved/re-painted?

Haven't really paid attention to the tank, but parts of it looks chrome, some surface rust, may be it was painted chrome??? But I think it could be saved.

I just can't touch this bike too much right now unless I sell a bike, you know...funding issues

My buddy who sold the $25,000 Sandcast needed keys for his recessed ignition for that bike because the original was lost and simply walked into our local long established Honda dealer and picked up two they had in stock cheap. They did not have the plastic on them like original but worked perfectly.

I'm having it real easy with this bike so far. Got the master cylinder cleaned reusing old kits, flushed the line with new fluid, front brake is good to stop. Few drops of marvel mystery oil into the clutch cable, broke it free. Put in later style air box, and just need new filter.

Yup. Done deal. Had a bit of hard time removing the float pin on #1, but I won at the end :)

We'll dammit.  I messed up float bowls on #3 and 4, those drain screws just won't budge, broke off, and cracked one bowl try to left hand drill it out.

But Stev-o is coming to the rescue with later type bowls, should work for now.   Also center stand is coming in, and 16 incher is coming off the bike soon.  I have a 18" DID rear wheel from my k6 to replace, but should I go through the trouble and swap the wheel hubs?

I would not do all that for a K6 rim.  Just save the two hole hub in case you find a nice K0 DID rim without all the stampings, or by some miracle find a decent rolled rim.  That's my two cents.
