Hello peeps this is Shaun. UK expat. I have never tinkered with motorcycles let alone attempt to do a restomod. A little ambitious of me I know. Especially considering I don't have any local help from a knowledgeable mc enthusiast. This project is aimed at providing the 1st mcfor my wife who has finally outgrown her ruckus after 3 years. She is only 5ft 2" and has a 28" inside leg measurement. The only bikes she has ever shown any interest in is a cafe style look. Obviously given the fact I am using a 73 cb350f , I need to figure out the best way to lower the bike so as to make it more manageable for her. Hope this does no offend anyone but my intention is to mix modern more readily available parts wihile retaining the old school look. My theory may be flawed and am prepared to be laughed out of court but here goes. If I can find a donor bike like say a cbr 250 I could use the front end and rear wheel etc hoping that would lower the bike and maybe in turn make it as good if not better handling. Make a seat with thin but firm foam. She would prefer spoked wheels and I am hoping I could use 17 or even 16 inch wheels. My concern is that in order to accomplish this I may need a degree in engineering which obviously is not going to happen. Any and all ideas and suggestion will be appreciated. Aesthetics are important but safety is the main priority. Please help. Remember I am a complete novice and if you do volunteer helpful hints you may need to be specific in layman's language.
