hi , sounds like you may have a spacer missing or a wrong size spacer fitted somewhere? have you just bought the bike or have you just noticed the problem? and have you got a manual ?

I'm putting 6 spoke alloy wheels on the bike, but they are just a bit wider than the original from the look of thing's. I have a manual but it has no information on that stuff.

Hi,
I just went out to measure the distance on my newly rebuilt CB400F2 for you, but without taking the rain guard off I cannot get an accurate measurement. I can give you a good estimate though. It looks like about 5mm from the outside surface of the disc to the inside surface of the fork leg. Hope that helps.

just measured my 400supersport...now, this is assuming my front disc is not warped... my measurement was very close to exactly 1/8 inch or roughly 3.333 millimeters.  difficult place to get a measurement tho.

Heffay, thanks for taking the measurement on your rotor, was that just one measurement or did you take two or three turning the wheel  and average it? Thank’s

take a look at these and tell me if you think i've even considered turning that wheel at all lately.

anyway, when i did last move the bike which was a year ago nearly to the day if rolled freely (aside from the flat tires) so it's not warped horribly if it is.  i would say the earlier guess of 5mm and mine of 3.3ish should get you where you need to be.

Heffay,  I’m going to go with a gap of 3mm  just need to machine the spacer on the speedo drive.
I’ve had a look at your bike; it’s not so bad you have more parts than I did when I started. It can get expensive if you buy Honda parts, I paid about 400 of your $’s for an exhaust system.Good luck and I hope you finish the project I’ve put a photo of the wheel‘s I’m fitting next to my name.

hey supersport_cb400f... i would send you a personal email to ask this question rather than busy up the boards ( i know, i know, most of you are asking why i care now anyway   :P)  but anyway,  if you dont mind my asking... what did you start with, how far are you, how much have you spent, and how much do yo intend to spend.
i've alloted myself about 3 grand but am still questioning that estimate.

Don't ask how I know this....but if you put the front axle in backwards your disc will be so close to the fork tube that the slightest warp will cause it to rub.
