CB550 Cylinder Head Cover LEAK FOUND.
« on: April 05, 2014, 02:54:27 PM »
It's not a tappet cover.
It's not the breather cover or from the squiggly o-ring gasket of the cover itself.
It's not from one of the 6 m6 bolts that require copper washers for oil sealing.
I thought it HAD to be from one of these sources as there are no other sources.

Right?

... uh no.

There was a MICRO-crack - invisible to the naked eye, about an inch anterior to one of the aforementioned m6 bolts. More oil at higher revs, of course.  JBweld here I come.

I recently restored and sold a 77 cb750f, and am nearly finished with a (former basket case) cb750k5.  This is a place to share, learn and enjoy.  I am grateful to and for 99+% of this site's membership.
