clutch problems
« on: April 14, 2014, 07:06:31 pm »
I'm working on a barn find 74 750K.  The clutch was stuck as is common in bikes that sit for years.  I removed the clutch and got all the plates free.  The friction plates and springs all measure within spec.  When reassembled, the clutch won't release. The adjustment screw is tight and can't be turned either direction.  When I take it back apart everything looks OK.

Any tips, ideas or advice is appreciated.  The service manual mentions that one friction disc is a larger diameter than the others.  They all measure the same diameter when I check them.  I'm stumped!  Where should I look for the problem?

ride safely, warm weather is almost here...
